Chulalongkorn University was established in 1917 by King Vajiravudh (Rama VI) who named it after his father, King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), who laid the foundations for modern education in Thailand. Considered among the leading universities of Thailand, recent initiatives at CU show a dedication and strategy for establishing itself as a World Class National University. CU is currently composed of 20 faculties and 23 colleges and research institutes. It has over 37,000 enrolled students.
