The University of Concepción (Spanish: Universidad de Concepción) (UdeC) is a private corporation founded in 1919 as a result of an initiative from the local community. UdeC was the third university established in Chile and the first one outside the capital city, Santiago. UdeC is one of the most prestigious universities in Chile. It is the third oldest university in the country and is part of the Council of Rectors. Its main campus is located at the Concepción's University City, with additional campuses in Chillán and Los Ángeles.
