Hochschule Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971 after a merger of twelve schools in the area and is considered to be a top university of its region. The university hosts ten faculties spread across two campuses in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach. HN offers more than 70 undergraduate and graduate degree programs as well as training and professional development courses. It has a student population of more than 14,000 which makes it the fourth largest university of applied sciences in Germany.
