Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) was founded in 1971 after the integration of the Higher Technical Schools of the Instituto Politécnico Superior which were originally established during the eighteenth century. UPM has 18 schools and faculties spread across four campuses providing degree programs including but not limited to architecture, aeronautical and space engineering, agronomic, food and biosystems engineering, civil engineering, forestry, forestry and natural environment engineering, computer systems engineering, industrial design, telecommunication systems, mining and energy engineering, and topography, geodesy and cartography.
