University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore first opened in 1899 as a small agricultural research farm. In 1913 the Mysore Agriculture Residential School was established which offered Licentiate in Agriculture and later offered a diploma program in agriculture during the 1920s. The school was upgraded to Agriculture College in 1946 and began to offer four year degree programs. The school was upgraded to the University of Agricultural Sciences in 1964 following the University of Agricultural Sciences Act No. 22 passed by the Legislative Assembly in 1963.
UAS Bangalore has grown to five campuses and more than ten research stations throughout the Indian state of Karnataka. The university offers six undergraduate degree programs, 22 postgraduate programs and 15 doctoral degree programs.
UAS Bangalore is comprised of the following colleges/faculties:
• Agriculture
• Sericulture
• Agricultural Engineering
• Basic Science and Humanities
