About This Partner

The Institut Pasteur de Dakar Foundation (IPD) is a non-profit association of public utility, focused on promoting public health and well-being in West Africa. Since its founding in 1896 by one of Louis Pasteur’s students, Émile Marchoux, the IPD has been at the forefront of the fight against infectious diseases. Since 2009, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar has been a Senegalese foundation, jointly managed by the government of Senegal and the Institut Pasteur (Paris).


IPD is a major biomedical research center in Senegal and its influence extends to West Africa and beyond. True to its mission of protecting and promoting public health, HPI excels in the health-related areas of research and development, diagnosis, vaccination, nutrition, public health expertise, and the production and distribution of human vaccines.
