About This Partner

The University of São Paulo is Brazil’s largest and most prestigious educational institution. It was founded in 1934, regrouping already existing schools in the state of Sao Paulo, becoming one of the largest institutions of higher education in Latin America with approximately 90,000 enrolled students. Currently, São Paulo has eleven campuses, with four in the city of São Paulo itself.

The University of São Paulo is the alma mater of twelve Brazilian presidents. In terms of research, USP is Brazil's largest research institution, producing more than 25% of the scientific papers published by Brazilian researchers in high quality conferences and journals. The University of São Paulo is also a member of the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN), which sets out to create a foundation for international collaboration enabling academics and students from some of the world’s top universities to work together on issues of global importance. Other members of the UGPN include NC State, the University of Surrey, and the University of Wollongong.
